During the years I perceived myself as a competitive person.

But something always did not add up as it should be…… could not put the finger on it…

And then it hit me

I am not a competitive person, I am an achiever. Which is totally different

There are similarities between the 2 kinds of people:

They set goals and targets

They set a strategy out of theses goals

They set tactics out of that strategy

They are leaders

They push themselves and others to the outmost during the course of the journey

But

There are some major differences between the 2 as well:

An achiever is focused in his goals letting nothing disturb him.

An achiever does not waste time looking to the sides, losing speed and focus. I am not saying you do not need to be aware of your surroundings and watch what your competitors are doing, but you must not let their actions lead you.

An achiever does not think on the short run, an achiever thinks about the medium and long run…. And is not shocked from every wave in the sea.

An achiever would not mind coming second or third as long as he achieved his goals.

An achiever would not be dragged to the competitor’s playground and would not find himself playing in a foreign land using foreign tools and by that losing his focus and be drawn further from his goals.

In many cases, when a person get occupied by reacting to others, he would find himself very far from dry land and away from safe grounds and from his goals.

An achiever thinks about how to reach his goals. A competitor thinks about how to beat his competition.

It is best to be an achiever with competitive characters in you rather than a competitor with achievers characters in you.

There is nothing wrong in being competitive…… I prefer being an achiever.
